HQ Holden

HQ Holden is an exclusive automobile series introduced by the world’s motor manufacturer giants General Motors in the year 1971 – 1974. This HQ motor series hit the showroom outlet in the year 1971 in the month of July 15. The HQ series were designed in order to replace the Holden HG series. The initial redesign of HQ Holden was introduced in the year 1948 and it came along with better improvements such as better suspension, chassis and best body design. The conventional car series were designed with the sedan look with 4 and 4 door patterns with 3 trim levels including Holden Belmont Sedan, Premier Sedan, Belmont Station Wagon, Kingswood Sedan, Premier Station Wagon and Kingswood Station Wagon.

 

The Holden SS Sedan was introduced in the year 1972 in the month of August. Though the model was marketed individually, they come under the category of Belmont V8 Sedan with XV2 option. On the other hand, the Monaro motor series were designed along with 2 door coupes such as Holden Monaro, Monaro GTS, GTS 350 and Monaro LS. The Monaro GTS designed along with 4 door variations was introduced in the year 1973 during the month of March. The mainstream car range was designed as panel van, cab chassis truck and coupe utility patterns. The different range of commercial vehicle includes: Holden Belmont Utility, Kingswood Utility, One Tonner and Belmont Panel Van. One Tonner was the latest addition to the HQ motor series.

The manufacturing of HQ series was about 485.650 vehicles that was designed before the replacing the HJ series in the year 1974 during the month of October. During the year 1980s, HQ Holden was widely by the Australian riders, as it was an exceptional motor make belonging to the race category under feasible cost. Though the motor series ventured in Tasmania it very soon became popular and got widely spread in other states as well. This was accepted as the basic, entry level race car and it was prevalently accepted by motor enthusiasts’ world wide. The HQ Holden was manufactured and introduced to comply the CAMS technical regulations.

 

On the other hand while considering the Statesman HQ series, the wheelbase were designed as luxury sedan type which was introduced in the year 1971 during the month of 1971. The front and rear suspension were designed with independent rubber bush, stabilizer bars, coil springs, tubular telescopic shocks and inner pivots.  The rear suspension includes 4 link systems along with the coil springs. The banjos are little modified than the previous designs.

 

The HQ Holden series were undeniably the best motor series which overruled the competition. Being an iconic vehicle, the competition and demand kept increasing every year. The interior and exterior design of Holden HQ was ultimate in its design, which gave enhanced comfort level to the riders. The engineering mechanism of HQ Holden was creative and matched new level of technical challenges.
